Gas fireplace conversions and repairs in Renton & Newcastle.

We provide fireplace installation in Renton and Newcastle and fire pit installation for homes from Kennydale, the Renton Highlands, Talbot Hill, and Fairwood to Newcastle’s China Creek and Olympus neighborhoods. We install gas fireplaces and inserts, build fire pits and fire tables, run the gas line, and file the permit with the right city or King County.

Fireplaces for wartime homes and new ones.

The Renton Highlands grew up in the 1940s to house Boeing workers, and many homes there and in Kennydale still have a small masonry fireplace built for wood. Fireplace insert installation gives those fireplaces a sealed gas firebox and a liner that vents properly. In Newcastle’s newer neighborhoods, we more often replace builder fireplaces or add a linear unit to a family room.

Fire pits with lake and mountain views.

From the Kennydale hillside above Lake Washington to Newcastle yards on the slopes of Cougar Mountain, where the town’s old coal mines gave it its name, a lot of homes here have a view worth sitting outside for. Our fire pit installation adds a fire table or stone fire pit where you already sit, with the gas run from the meter and the burner sized to match.

Renton, Newcastle, or King County permits.

Renton and Newcastle each issue their own permits, and Fairwood addresses outside city limits go through King County. We file with the right office and schedule inspections. For older gas systems, we offer gas line inspection and gas leak repair, including replacing old flex connectors behind ranges and water heaters.

Questions from Renton & Newcastle homeowners.

Short answers to what people in Renton & Newcastle ask us before the first visit.

Question 1 of 4

Can you convert my Renton Highlands fireplace to gas?

Usually. Many Highlands homes have a small masonry fireplace, and a compact gas insert fits most of them. We measure the opening and check the chimney before recommending a unit.

Question 2 of 4

Is Fairwood part of Renton?

No. Fairwood is unincorporated King County, so permits go through the county. We check your address and file with the right office.

Question 3 of 4

Do older Renton homes need a gas line inspection?

It is worth it in homes with original piping or old appliance connectors. A gas line inspection checks the piping, connectors, and shutoff valves and comes with a written report.

Question 4 of 4

Can you run gas to a fire pit on a steep lot?

Yes. Slopes change how we route and support the line, but they rarely stop the project. We plan the path and pressure test before the trench is covered.
