Gas leak and gas line repair on the Eastside.

Sound Fire Solutions handles gas leak repair and gas line repair for homes across the Eastside. Smell gas right now? Leave the house first. Once you are outside, call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911. Then call us for the repair.

Leaking joints, valves, and fittings.

Most indoor gas leaks are at a connection: a threaded joint that has loosened, a flare fitting, or a shutoff valve that has started to leak. We repair or replace the fitting and retest it.

Connector, pipe, and underground gas line repair.

When the pipe itself is the problem, we replace the damaged section. Old flex connectors get replaced with modern coated ones, CSST gets repaired only with the manufacturer’s approved fittings, and failing underground lines get repaired or replaced.

Retesting, red tags, and getting the gas back on.

If the utility shut off your gas or red-tagged an appliance, the gas stays off until a qualified contractor makes the repair. We fix it, pressure retest the system, and provide the documentation needed to get service restored.

Gas leak repair questions.

Short answers to what homeowners ask us before the first site visit.

Question 1 of 7

What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave the house right away. Do not turn lights or appliances on or off, use a phone inside, or start a car in an attached garage. Once you are outside, call Puget Sound Energy at 1-888-225-5773 or 911.

Question 2 of 7

What are signs of a gas leak besides the smell?

A hissing sound near gas piping or an appliance, bubbles in standing water, dead or discolored plants over a buried line, a higher gas bill than usual, or a gas meter that keeps moving with every appliance off.

Question 3 of 7

My gas was red-tagged. What happens now?

A red tag means the utility found an unsafe condition and shut off the gas to an appliance or the house. It stays off until a qualified contractor makes the repair. We fix the problem, retest, and document the repair so service can be restored.

Question 4 of 7

How much does gas leak repair cost?

Resealing a joint or replacing a flex connector is a small repair. Replacing a corroded section or a buried line costs more because of access and trenching. We pinpoint the leak on the line we are repairing and quote the repair before we start.

Question 5 of 7

Can I fix a small gas leak myself?

No. Gas repairs need a licensed contractor, the right fittings, and a pressure test afterward. A repair that looks tight can still leak.

Question 6 of 7

Do you repair underground gas lines?

Yes. We repair the damaged section or replace the line, then pressure test it before the trench is closed.

Question 7 of 7

Will you provide documentation of the repair?

Yes. You get written documentation of the repair and the retest for your utility, landlord, or insurer.
