Gas line installation on the Eastside.

Sound Fire Solutions provides licensed gas line installation for homes and remodels across the Eastside. We run new natural gas and propane lines and hook up ranges, dryers, water heaters, furnaces, BBQs, pool heaters, and standby generators, with every line permitted, pressure tested, and inspected before it goes into service.

Gas lines for every appliance.

Adding an appliance adds load to your gas system. We size the pipe for the length of the run and everything already on the meter, then run the line and make the connection.

Black iron, CSST, and underground gas lines.

We choose the piping that fits the job: black iron for exposed runs, CSST with proper bonding for runs through walls and floors, and polyethylene for underground lines. For large homes, a 2 PSI medium-pressure system with manifolds keeps pipe sizes manageable.

Gas service and safety devices.

When a home needs new gas service, Puget Sound Energy sets the meter and we pipe from it. We install the valves and safety devices code requires, and every new line is pressure tested and inspected before it goes into service.

Gas stubs, conversions, and capping old lines.

Smaller jobs matter too. We add outdoor gas stubs so a grill or heater can connect later, convert appliances from propane to natural gas when service arrives, and cap and abandon lines that are no longer used.

Gas line installation questions.

Short answers to what homeowners ask us before the first site visit.

Question 1 of 4

How much does gas line installation cost?

It depends on the length of the run, the pipe type, and whether it goes underground. A short line to a range is a small job, and a long trench to a pool heater or generator is a larger one. You get a fixed quote after a site visit.

Question 2 of 4

Do I need a permit to install a gas line?

Yes. New and extended gas lines need a permit, a pressure test, and an inspection before they go into service. We file the permit and carry it through to sign-off.

Question 3 of 4

Can you run a gas line for a generator or pool heater?

Yes. Standby generators and pool heaters use a lot of gas, so line sizing matters. We size and run the line for the appliance’s full load.

Question 4 of 4

What is CSST, and does it need to be bonded?

CSST is corrugated stainless steel tubing, a flexible gas pipe that is quicker to run through walls and floors. It has to be bonded according to the manufacturer’s instructions and code, and we include the bonding in every CSST installation.
